Overview

Built nearly 600 years ago by one of Ireland’s greatest chieftains, Blarney Castle has been attracting attention ever since. Over the last few hundred years, millions have flocked to Blarney making it a world landmark and one of Ireland’s greatest treasures. Now that might have something to do with the Blarney Stone, the legendary Stone of Eloquence, found at the top of our tower. Receive the “gift of the gab” by kissing the famous Stone. The gardens surrounding Blarney Castle are a paradise for walkers and are worth exploring.

You will have the chance to discover the Rock of Cashel, which is considered to be one of Ireland’s 7 Wonders. This is a site of immense historical importance as it was the seat of the King of Munster. This location was a fortress, which dates back before the Anglo-Norman conquerors reigned over the land. Not to mention, there is an extensive collection of historical, architectural, and artistically related pieces gathered here.

For the last stop of the day enjoy a tour of Cahir Castle one of the few castles in Ireland that still has a lot of its original features still intact, like the castle's functioning portcullis. Discover Cahir Castles' exciting & action-packed past. You may also recognise this castle as it has appeared in various film & TV shows including the hit TV series, The Tudors.

We will pass alongside two separate mountain ranges; the first is the Knockmealdown Mountains that have been made famous by the Irish folk song 'Kitty Borne O’Brien'. Next, we’ll come across Ireland’s highest inland range, the Galtee Mountains. The views are simply breathtaking!

This uniquely structured tour departs from Dublin every day of the week at 6:50am, and will deliver you safely back into the city centre at approximately 7:00pm. For further details and a detailed breakdown on your day with Irish Day Tours, click on the itinerary.

Additional info

We are a sustainable coach tour company, doing our best to promote a greener future. Over the past few years we have been taking steps to become more environmentally friendly by incorporating new sustainable practices.

Our Eco journey:

- Ei Travel Group is eco certified

- We are a member of the Native Woodland Trust, who do tremendous work in protecting and preserving Ireland's woodlands. They are also committed to restoring Ireland’s original climax ecosystem which they are doing through the re-creation of woodlands, using native seed.

- We have solar panels installed in our bus yard where we have the garage and offices too. The solar panels make the yard net zero emmissions meaning all our day times electricity is covered by the solar panels. Solar panels are the cleanest form of energy generation, maintenance free and one of the most environmentally friendly technologies.

- The yard has a rain water harvestor which is used to wash all the buses. The harvestor collects the rain water, stores it, filters it and then it is used to wash the buses.

- The coaches have telematics for eco driving techniques which provides a digital blue print of the vehicles operation.

- Multiple staff members within the company are 'Leave no Trace' trained. Leave No Trace Ireland is an Outdoor Ethics Education Programme which promotes and inspires responsible recreation outdoors.

-  By taking customers out on coaches we are taking a certain amount of cars off the road each year.

- All our coaches have Euro 6 engines in them. The Euro 6 emissions standard provides increased efficiency, clearner aid and reduced CO2.

- We also have a very modern fleet which benefits the environment sustainability.

We look forward to updating our customers on new practices we will introuduce along our Eco journey.
