Itinerary

6:10 am: Pick up - O'Connell Street
6:20 am: DEPART DUBLIN

We will meet in front of the Molly Malone Statue located on Suffolk Street (map is available within the link to the booking page). We will begin our exciting journey by crossing the west coast of Ireland toward Connemara. We will take an exceptionally scenic route towards Oughterard, which is the gateway into Connemara! While passing through charming little towns along the way, you will have the luxury of encountering views that are truly unmatched anywhere else across the land! Any signs or boundaries do not mark Connemara National Park; you will realize you have arrived from the breath-taking surroundings.

10:30 am: KILLARY SHEEP FARM

Ireland has only one fjord and we are heading straight for it – the Killary Fjord. Marvel at the thriving mussel beds and look out towards Mweelrea, the highest mountain range on the west coast of Ireland. Please note that during the high season (April - October) this tour offers a 1.5-hour boat cruise around Killary Harbour. During the low season (November - March) the boat cruise will not run and instead we will make our way over to the Killary Sheep Farm, a traditional farm that hosts approximately 200 ewes and lambs that roam freely across the fjord. Visitors have the unique opportunity to observe a local farmer performing a sheepdog demonstration.

12:45 pm: KYLEMORE ABBEY

We will have a photo opportunity at Kylemore Abbey. Once a prestigious female boarding school, but now it hosts nuns on retreat as well as welcoming tourists visiting from around the world! Nestled at the base of the Druchruach Mountains and looking out onto the northern shore of Lough Pollacappal, the sprawling abbey is a sight to behold. It is known as one of the most romantic places in Ireland; a place filled with history.

1:30 pm: INAGH VALLEY

Drive through the stunning Inagh Valley.

3:00 pm: GLENGOWLA MINES

Enjoy an underground tour of Connemara’s only ‘show mine’, pan for gold, and take a journey of discovery of how lead and silver were mined here during the 1800s. Explore caverns of marble studded with lead and silver. Learn about the working conditions of the miners before the mines closed in 1865. Afterwards, pan for gold and gems at our gold panning station and keep any gems you find.

7 pm: ARRIVE BACK IN DUBLIN

We will arrive back in Dublin after an exciting and unforgettable journey discovering the savage beauty that is Connemara. Your friends will be jealous and will all want to go to the region of Connemara after seeing your beautiful photos.

Additional info

We are a sustainable coach tour company, doing our best to promote a greener future. Over the past few years we have been taking steps to become more environmentally friendly by incorporating new sustainable practices.

Our Eco journey:

- Ei Travel Group is eco certified

- We are a member of the Native Woodland Trust, who do tremendous work in protecting and preserving Ireland's woodlands. They are also committed to restoring Ireland’s original climax ecosystem which they are doing through the re-creation of woodlands, using native seed.

- We have solar panels installed in our bus yard where we have the garage and offices too. The solar panels make the yard net zero emmissions meaning all our day times electricity is covered by the solar panels. Solar panels are the cleanest form of energy generation, maintenance free and one of the most environmentally friendly technologies.

- The yard has a rain water harvestor which is used to wash all the buses. The harvestor collects the rain water, stores it, filters it and then it is used to wash the buses.

- The coaches have telematics for eco driving techniques which provides a digital blue print of the vehicles operation.

- Multiple staff members within the company are 'Leave no Trace' trained. Leave No Trace Ireland is an Outdoor Ethics Education Programme which promotes and inspires responsible recreation outdoors.

-  By taking customers out on coaches we are taking a certain amount of cars off the road each year.

- All our coaches have Euro 6 engines in them. The Euro 6 emissions standard provides increased efficiency, clearner aid and reduced CO2.

- We also have a very modern fleet which benefits the environment sustainability.

We look forward to updating our customers on new practices we will introuduce along our Eco journey.
