Our Wicklow day tour is designed to give you an experience like no other. We take a route up past the Blessington Lakes, where you will see the lush green fields of arable land before stopping at Baltinglass Abbey, dating back to the 1100s. We then visit a working farm where you get to experience what life is like for the rural farmer. Ed and his trusty dog will give you a sheepdog demonstration and explain the workings of this diverse farm populated by sheep, cattle, pigs and of course, his five working dogs. We continue on to a fantastic lunch destination in the Glenmalure Valley.
We then visit what for many will be the highlight of the tour – Glendalough. The Glendalough monastery was founded in the 6th century, but most of the buildings there today date from the late 10th century to the 12th century. The round tower and the Cathedral are particularly impressive. The setting is what makes this monastic site stand out above all others and you have an hour and a half to explore the surrounding area, breathtaking views and the lakes.
The sights and experiences on this tour are fantastic and we know that our knowledgeable, entertaining guides will make this Wicklow day tour one of the most memorable days of your trip to Ireland!
