Discover some of Ireland's most beautiful locations on this Premium Wicklow tour, from a tree-top walk to the history-filled monastic site, Glendalough.

For our first visit, we are delighted to be including Beyond the Trees at Avondale. Beyond the Trees is a tree-top boardwalk through the forest and over the Avonmore River valley. Along the walkway, enjoy the fantastic views of the valley and surrounding areas. Learn about the local wildlife and some of the finest trees in Ireland that you will pass by on your walk. At the end of the walkway, among the trees, you will reach the viewing tower. This spiral-ramped boardwalk reaches 38 metres into the sky and provides spectacular views from the top. The viewing tower is fully wheelchair and pram accessible, with resting points along the way.

Next, we will travel to Glendalough, renowned for its history and scenery. You will have one and a half hours here to explore the monastic city and the lakes. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this, the “Monastic City” was formed. Most of the buildings that are still standing today date back from the 10th through to the 12th century. The name Glendalough translates to "valley of the two lakes", the Upper and Lower lake. Take time to have a stroll around the lakes and take in the peace and beautiful scenery.

For the last stop, we will be visiting a working sheep farm! The local farmer will introduce you to their hard-working sheepdogs and finish with a sheepdog demonstration. Watch how the sheepdog handler put the dogs to work through different commands that they will explain throughout.

The tour departs from the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street at 8:30 (Please Arrive 10 minutes before Departure time )

For our first stop, we are visiting the new and unique Beyond The Trees. It is the first of its kind in Ireland. A spectacular new visitor attraction. Explore the Treetop walk and viewing tower at Avondale and enjoy incredible views of the beautiful Wicklow countryside from the viewing tower. If you are feeling brave, you can get a slide down the tower at an additional cost.

Arriving at Glendalough in the afternoon has distinct advantages as most tours come here in the morning. You have an hour and a half to explore the monastic site and the surrounding lakes. The Monastery itself was founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin, but most of the buildings date from between the 11th and 12th centuries. Glendalough monastery has many buildings; the tower and St Kevin’s Kitchen are the most complete all the rest are in disrepair to differing extents. The setting amongst the mountains and the lakes is what sets this monastery apart from every other. Take a stroll and enjoy this magical place, you will be transported to a tranquil peaceful place.

We will take a short trip into Hollywood, also known as 'the original Hollywood, a small village in Wicklow that has boasted the name long before Hollywood in California even existed. your guide will take you for a walk through the valley here. see if you can spot Wicklow's version of the Hollywood sign.

Our last stop of the day is to a working sheep farm in garden county, county Wicklow.  Meet the friendly local farmer who will delight in introducing you to rural life on the farm. you will be introduced to their hard-working sheepdogs, they will explain and show you how they are trained to carry out their duties. Then finally the main event, a sheepdog demonstration. This is a truly unique experience and gives you a great insight into life in rural Ireland.

Additional info

We are a sustainable coach tour company, doing our best to promote a greener future. Over the past few years we have been taking steps to become more environmentally friendly by incorporating new sustainable practices.

Our Eco journey:

- Ei Travel Group is eco certified

- We are a member of the Native Woodland Trust, who do tremendous work in protecting and preserving Ireland's woodlands. They are also committed to restoring Ireland’s original climax ecosystem which they are doing through the re-creation of woodlands, using native seed.

- We have solar panels installed in our bus yard where we have the garage and offices too. The solar panels make the yard net zero emmissions meaning all our day times electricity is covered by the solar panels. Solar panels are the cleanest form of energy generation, maintenance free and one of the most environmentally friendly technologies.

- The yard has a rain water harvestor which is used to wash all the buses. The harvestor collects the rain water, stores it, filters it and then it is used to wash the buses.

- The coaches have telematics for eco driving techniques which provides a digital blue print of the vehicles operation.

- Multiple staff members within the company are 'Leave no Trace' trained. Leave No Trace Ireland is an Outdoor Ethics Education Programme which promotes and inspires responsible recreation outdoors.

-  By taking customers out on coaches we are taking a certain amount of cars off the road each year.

- All our coaches have Euro 6 engines in them. The Euro 6 emissions standard provides increased efficiency, clearner aid and reduced CO2.

- We also have a very modern fleet which benefits the environment sustainability.

We look forward to updating our customers on new practices we will introuduce along our Eco journey.
